Why Sydney Is The Best City In The World In Summer
Sydney is the best city in the world in summer.
Why?
Because everything can be done in the open air. There's open air cinema, open air concerts and open air dining.
Let's look at each in detail.
1) Open air cinemas
There are three stunning outdoor cinemas in Sydney in summer. The OpenAir Cinema at Sydney Harbour (to be seen to be believed), the Moonlight Cinema at Centennial Park and the Starlight Cinema at Manly Beach. Ever since the death of the drive-in, there's no better way to go to the movies than under the stars in a beautiful natural setting.
2) Open air concerts
There are thirty plus outdoor concerts in Sydney each summer. There's the Big Day Out at the Sydney Showground, featuring international bands and DJs. There's Homebake, featuring Australian bands. There are outdoor concerts by big name performers, such as Bob Dylan, U2 and Jack Johnson. There are free jazz, opera and classical concerts in a city park on Saturday nights in summer.
3) Open air dining
If you like to dine and drink in the open air, you'll love these options. There's the incredible atmosphere of the Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park. There's the sublime views of Sydney Harbour at the alfresco Opera Bar. You could create a wonderful picnic to eat at Rushcutter's Bay, stopping at the gourmet delis of Paddington or Woollahra on the way.Or there's the glistening views of Bondi Beach on the balconies of Bondi Icebergs, Bondi Beach.
Whatever your preference, if you love the great outdoors, Sydney is the best city in the world in summer.
