Universal Studios: Universal Fun
Orlando has achieved quite a status in our nation?s cultural psyche. The home of Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, Seaworld (and the oft maligned Epcot Center), Orlando is the vacation destination for families all across America. What is somewhat lesser known, however, are Orlando?s other attractions. It has a great restaurant scene, with fantastic food to be found all over the city. It also has one of the highest concentrations of lakes in the state, making a popular destination for pleasure-boaters and anglers. Lets not kid ourselves, however, the reason that most people come to Orlando is the amazing theme parks.
There are many theme parks in Orlando, so how does one choose where to go. I?ve always thought Disney was a little bit creepy, and to be honest, Epcot isn?t particularly impressive to me. Universal, however, has always pleased me, and I find that it?s a better deal (monetarily) than any of the Disney parks. The attractions at Universal aren?t big thrill rides, but they are still very entertaining and a lot of fun. To beat the crowds, get there as soon as the park opens at 9 am, and ride on the most popular rides before everyone gets there (the crowds start to really show up around 11am). The Mummy is one of my personal favorites, though the Back to the Future ride is an absolute classic. Naturally, food is incredibly expensive (as is the case at every amusement park since the dawn of time), so either have a big breakfast or be ready to shell out 16 dollars for a frozen pizza.
Universal is the perfect destination for family vacations, dates, or getaways in general. If you?re sensitive to crowds, make sure you either get there early or go in the off-season. If you don?t want to brave the crowded parking lots, consider renting transportation from a third party ? a taxi, or shuttle?or...LIMOUSINE. A luxury vehicle from Mirage Limo will take you to and from your theme park destination in the most luxurious and relaxing way possible. It would certainly be perfect for a group trip to Universal, as it would eliminate the need for extra cars. Universal Orlando awaits, and Mirage is your means of getting there.
