Hawaiian 50th State Fair is Tropical Fun
The 50th State Fair is a month long festival of rides, games and fun held from the beginning of May to the middle of June in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is not held on the Island of Hawaii, but on the Island of Oahu, so when you are planning on making a trip to the islands for the fair make sure you don?t end up on the wrong one. The fair is put together by E.K. Fernandez Shows, a company that is locally owned and whose founder helped to bring the idea of fairs and carnivals to Hawaii.
Visitors to the fair can usually find it easily because it is held every year at the Aloha Stadium. Normally a place that hosts thousands of fans and football teams during the cooler months; it is still the site of much fun in summer, just in a different form. It?s the only fair in Hawaii where you can the Wild Cat Rollercoaster and Skyliner Rides. Make sure before getting on board that you don?t tend towards motion sickness.
For the kids there?s the Sea Lion Splash Show that operates three times a day. Watch the cute furry creatures perform stunts and drench the front of the crowd in water. You may even get to volunteer to be a part of the show. For the adults there?s the Beer Garden, the only place at the fair where you can buy and enjoy alcoholic drinks. Entertainment is usually available in the form of free musical acts and the always popular Karaoke.
Visitors can get to and from the fair on Oahu?s Public Transportation System accurately called TheBus. Buses go all over the island, including the Aloha Stadium and have many easy to find stops. This makes it easy for visitors to check out some of the islands other wonderful sites. The Honolulu Zoo is all week, or you can see the Bishop Museum considered to be the largest museum in the State of Hawaii.
