An Introduction To Discount Cigarettes
Discount cigarettes are a cheaper alternative to quality cigarettes of various brands. Buyers of discount cigarettes don't have to pay taxes. Discount cigarettes are the cigarettes sold at airports and duty-free shops. There are also provisions for Native American tribes to sell cigarettes without state taxes, as long as they are selling the cigarettes on their own land. It is perfectly legal to buy discount cigarettes, provided they adhere to some legal processes.
Duty-free cigarettes are made in the United States for the overseas market. Likewise, they are sometimes also made overseas duty-free for the U.S. market. Generally, these products have different packaging and various promotional offers. The blending formulations also differ from the other cigarettes. It is illegal for anyone else except the trademark owner to have these duty-free cigarettes re-imported into the US.
Duty-free cigarettes are different from tax-free cigarettes. Tax-free means there is no tax added to an order from the source country. Prices listed are what one pays plus shipping, therefore no tax is added. A product is duty-free when it reaches the country of destination, where tax may be applied to the discretion of the local Customs Authorities. For this reason, the product may not be duty-free when it reaches the market. However, the value of duty taxes which are usually applied varies from country to country.
