Centennial Olympic Park was built for the 1996 Olympics that tool place in Atlanta. The park was built in a run down part of town entirely from public donations. It is a must see site in Atlanta so if you have some extra time to spend check it out.

If you like music, try to visit the park at noon on Tuesday or Thursday between April and September. Between noon and 1PM on those days you will find live music. Local artists will be performing music ranging from reggae to R&B to jazz. You can either bring your lunch and enjoy the music or you can purchase your lunch from a variety of different vendors.

Cant make it there on Tuesday or Thursday? No problem go to the park on Wednesday at 5:30 to 8:00 PM and catch the Wednesday Winddown. During the spring and summer you will find a very popular free concert featuring the best of the local Atlanta talent. Music ranges from Jazz to Contemporary. There is something for everyone.

If you find that you just can not make it to the park on a week day you have yet another option. On the fourth Saturday of every month between April and September the park hosts the 4th Saturday Family Fun Days. You will find live performance artists, shows, music and activities for the whole family.

Even if you can not make it to the park on one of the special times you will still find lots to do. Explore the park and be sure to check out the dancing water shows at the Fountain of Rings. The water shows take place at 12:30 PM, 3:30, 6:30 and 9:00 every day. For more information about the park you can call 404-223-4412.
